vol ii -- erotic borderlands
How do we define erotic? Audre Lorde writes, "the erotic is a measure between the beginnings of our sense of self and the chaos of our strongest feelings.”
And borderlands? In the words of Gloria Anzaldúa, "Borders are set up to define the places that are safe and unsafe, to distinguish us from them. A border is a dividing line, a narrow strip along a steep edge. A borderland is a vague and undetermined place created by the emotional residue of an unnatural boundary. It is in a constant state of transition. The prohibited and forbidden are its inhabitants.”
Waves crashing… void consuming…a site of emergence and erosion// creation and destruction. Where and when are your erotic borderlands? What kind of vocabulary do you have for them?
We are looking for visual and written work for inclusion in our upcoming erotic borderlands issue. We welcome and encourage submissions from anyone regardless of age, education, gender identity/expression, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, immigration status, or ability <3
